Doing Good Deeds :)

I decided to buy some cigarette to the store near in our office and an old man caught my attention. He was sitting at the front of the store. When I saw him it really breaks my heart bcoz he was very thin and he’s collecting garbage. So I decided to ask him “Tay ano po gusto nyo ililibre kita”. He smiled at me and he said “softdrinks lang ne” and I bought him one. He was very thirsty and I ask him again “ano pa po gusto nyo tay?” and he said “Lumpia(junk food) nalang”. I told him “Tay pag may pera ako ililibre kita lagi” and he smiled again and he said thank you. Doing something good for someone else can make us feel better about ourselves. Doing a good deed is not just what is acceptable or expected; these days it is an outright surprise, and a good one at that! Try it, you will be surprised at how it brightens even the darkest, foulest of days! Although it may sound somewhat cliche, holding a door for someone, especially if they are less capable than yourself, can be a joy to do and get reactions that are amazing! Elderly people, disabled people, even simply people with their hands full at the supermarket could use this little gift of good every now and again. The point isn’t really to hold the door open for them, although it is a nice gesture. No, the point is to respect yourself and others, and offer the kindness of your heart to a complete stranger. Doing a good deed for someone, while it does benefit the person receiving the good deed, helps the giver out, as well! Brightening someone’s day is so easy that I wonder why it is not done more. Remember, folks, you can kill two birds with one stone when it comes to spreading good nature and doing nice deeds!

Truely!
